Educate Dallas Earth Day Poster Contest
Current Energy hosts an annual in-store signage contest for Dallas Independent School District elementary schools around Earth Day each year. Designated grades from participating schools design a large, 4-by-6-foot sign describing the meaning of Earth Day. All submitted signs hang inside the Current Energy store as the window signage for several weeks for the public to view. Current Energy’s Principal Partners Josh Stern and Joe Harberg along with Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert judge the posters. An award’s ceremony is conducted at the winning school’s campus and includes an educational Q&A and $1,000 check presentation for environmental enhancements or educational materials. Current Energy also donates $500 to each participating school for environmental enhancements.
