How reliable is Mr. Slim?

Mr. Slim is designed to be one of the most reliable air conditioners available. Every major component is designed and manufactured by Mitsubishi Electric so the system operates optimally providing years of worry-free performance. In the US, Mr. Slim earns only about 1⁄2 of one percent failure rate compared to the industry average of approximately 4 percent. The reason for this can be explained by the fact most other AC products are manufactured with components and parts from an assortment of manufacturers which can affect the product’s reliability and longevity.

Can I air-condition my entire home with Mr. Slim?

Mr. Slim is considered a zone heating and cooling product. A zone is defined as any open space in a building typically separated by walls. Mr. Slim multi-zone systems are available to take care of air conditioning needs in up to 3 different zones, all operated from one single outdoor unit!

Does Mr. Slim filter and clean the air?

Mr. Slim is designed to circulate air within the space using about the same power as a 40-watt light bulb. In addition, there are two standard built-in filters that clean the air and trap virus and toxins while also deodorizing.

What is an INVERTER Mr. Slim system?

INVERTER systems represent the next generation in air conditioning and heat pump technology and are quickly replacing conventional single speed compressor systems. An inverter is a variable speed drive that changes the voltage and frequency being fed to a motor. When this technology is applied to a compressors motor, the AC system’s operating capacity can vary tremendously giving you a TRUE variable speed system. Think of the inverter drive controlling a compressor like a throttle pedal controls a car’s engine.

How many square feet will Mr. Slim cover?

Generally speaking, a Mr. Slim 12,000 btu/h system is equivalent to a 1 ton system and will satisfy about 400-500 square feet of space. The 22,000 – 30,000 btu/h systems will cover about 800 to 1200 square feet.

Is there a way to hide the refrigerant lines on the exterior of my building?

Yes, there is with a product called LINE-HIDE, a PVC cover that surrounds the line set and secures it to the outside wall. You may also choose to hide the lines within a wall in a new construction or a sheetrock remodeling application.
